Qualification Summary
Each National Olympic Committee can enter a maximum of 4 athletes (2 men and 2 women). As hosts, Japan was given one quota in each event to compete and will be allowed to qualify more athletes while two quotas (1 man and 1 woman) will be decided by the Tripartite Commission. The host quota was not used and was reallocated. The remaining quotas will be decided through various events, specifically, the 2019 Combined World Championships, the 2019 Olympic Qualifying Event and the 2020 continental championships.
