Qualification Summary
Each National Olympic Committee can enter a maximum of 30 athletes (15 men and 15 women) with a maximum of two athletes per individual event and two teams of two athletes in the mixed team events. As hosts, Japan will be given one quota in each individual event to compete should they fail to qualify while 24 quotas (12 men and 12 women), two in each individual event will be decided by the Tripartite Commission. The remaining quotas will be decided through various events, specifically, the 2018 World Championships, the 2019 World Cup events, the continental games and championships and the Olympic World Ranking List released on June 6th 2021. Additionally, all selected athletes must have reached the minimum qualification score (MQS) in the event they will compete in at an approved competition. Athletes may also compete as double starters in other events provided that they reach the MQS and do not exceed their nation’s maximum quota per event
