Shooting: Jin Jumin Tops Men’s Rapid Fire Pistol at World Championships

China was the dominant nation today in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol at the 2018 ISSF World Championships. In total, four quotas were available to the highest ranked eligible athletes. The World Championships are being held in Changwon, South Korea from August 31st to September 15th 2018.

The qualification round was however topped by Germany’s Oliver Geis whom finished one point ahead of China’s Jin Junmin with a total score of 291. The final turned into a showdown between Jin and his compatriot Zhang Jian. Once the competition reached the elimination stage the two athletes were well ahead of the rest of the competition. By the end, Jin finished one point ahead of Zhang, with a score of 32. The other two Olympic quotas were won by bronze medalist Jean Quiquampoix of France and Russia’s Alexi Klimov.

In terms of Olympic events this concludes the pistol events at the World Championships. The only events remaining are the women’s and men’s skeet which will have their finals tomorrow and Friday respectively.
