Paraguay made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 1968 and has competed ever since, with the exception of 1980 where they participated in the United States led boycott. The nation sends a small delegation with around 10 athletes competing at each Olympic. The athletes typically compete in athletics, fencing, judo, swimming and tennis. Paraguay’s only medal came in 2004 when the men’s football team won silver.
