El Salvador

History

El Salvador made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 1968 and has competed in subsequent Olympics with the exception of 1976 and 1980 where it participated in the United States led boycott. The nation sends a small delegation of about 10 athletes to each game and typically participates in athletics, cycling, judo, swimming and weightlifting. El Salvador has yet to win its first Olympic medal.
