The Cayman Islands made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 1976. They missed the next Olympics due to their participation of the United States led boycott, but returned in 1984 and have competed ever since. The British Overseas Territory typically sends a small delegation of around five athletes to each games. The sports the Cayman Islands have so far competed in were athletics, cycling, sailing and swimming. They have yet to win their first Olympic medal.
