Tonga

History

Tonga made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 1984 and has competed ever since. The nation sends a small delegation of fewer than 10 athletes to compete at each Olympics. The athletes typically compete in athletics, boxing and weightlifting. Tonga has won a single medal where boxer Paea Wolfgramm won silver in the men’s super heavyweight at the 1996 Olympics.
