History
Montenegro made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 2008 and has competed ever since. The nation sends a varied amount of athletes depending on how many team sports it has qualified to the Olympics. In terms of athletes competing in individual sports the nation sends fewer than 10 athletes to compete. Montenegro typically competes in athletics, handball, judo and water polo. The nation won its first and only medal when its women’s handball team won silver at the 2012 Olympics.
