Liechtenstein

History

Liechtenstein made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 1936 and has competed ever since, with the exceptions of 1956 and 1980, where it participated in the United States led boycott. The nation sends a very small delegation with teams of fewer than five athletes competing numerous times. The athletes typically compete in athletics, cycling, judo and shooting. Liechtenstein has yet to win its first summer Olympic medal, making it the only nation to have won a winter, but no summer medal.
