Timor-Leste made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 2004 and has competed ever since. Athletes from the nation competed in 2000, after gaining independence from Indonesia, but since they did not have a National Olympic Committee at the time the athletes competed under the Olympic banner as Independent Olympic Athletes. The nation sends a very small delegation of fewer than five athletes to compete at each Olympics. So far the athletes have competed in athletics and cycling. Timor-Leste has yet to win its first Olympic medal.
None as of yet.
