Lebanon

History

Lebanon made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 1948 and has competed ever since, with the exception of 1956 where it boycotted the games due to the handling of the Suez Crisis. Recently the nation has sent a small delegation with around 10 athletes. The sports Lebanon has more commonly competed in are athletics, fencing, judo, shooting, swimming, weightlifting and wrestling. Lebanon won its first medal in 1952 and has won a total of four medals; three in wrestling and one in weightlifting.
