Bahrain

History

Bahrain made its first Summer Olympic Games appearance in 1984 and has competed ever since. Typically the Bahraini team consisted between 4 and 15 athletes, however in 2016 they doubled that record and over 30 athletes competed. The increase was mostly due to an influx of athletes competing in athletics. Other sports that Bahrain typically competes in include shooting and swimming. Bahrain won their first medal in 2012. In 2016 the nation won two more medals giving them a total of three with all of them being won in athletics.
