History
The Gambia made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 1984 and has competed ever since. The nation sends a very small delegation where usually fewer than five athletes compete at each Olympics. Typically they compete in athletics, but athletes have also competed in boxing, judo, swimming and wrestling. The Gambia has yet to win its first Olympic medal.
