Sierra Leone

History

Sierra Leone made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 1968 and would go on to miss the next two games. After returning in 1980 they would compete in all subsequent Olympics. The nation sends a very small delegation with fewer than 5 athletes competing at each Olympics since 2000. So far the athletes have competed in athletics, boxing, cycling, swimming and weightlifting. Sierra Leone has yet to win its first Olympic medal.
