History
Mauritius made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 1984 and has competed ever since. The nation typically sends a small delegation of around 10 athletes which compete in a variety of sports including, athletics, badminton, boxing, swimming and weightlifting. The nation has won a single medal, at the 2008 Olympics where boxer Bruno Julie won bronze in the men’s bantamweight event.
