Malawi

History

Malawi made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 1972. It then missed the next two games due to its participation in the African boycott and the United States led boycott respectively. After returning in 1984 the nation has competed in all subsequent Olympics. Malawi has recently sent a small delegation of around five athletes to compete at each Olympics. The nation has so far competed in archery, athletics, boxing, cycling and swimming. Malawi has yet to win its first Olympic medal.
