The nation typically sends a very small delegation of around 5 athletes to each Olympics though it sent a relatively large one in 2012 due to qualifying in football. Typically the nation competes in athletics, boxing, judo and taekwondo. Gabon has won a single medal where Anthony Obame won silver in men’s +80kg taekwondo at the 2012 Olympics.
