Djibouti

History

Djibouti made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 1984 and has competed ever since with the exception of the 2004 Olympics. The nation sends a small delegation of athletes where around five are sent to compete at each games. The sports Djibouti has so far competed in are athletics, judo, sailing, swimming and table tennis. Their only Olympic medal came in 1988 where Hussein Ahmed Salah won bronze in the men’s marathon.
