History
Burkina Faso made its first Summer Olympic appearance in 1972 as Upper Volta. They wouldn’t make their second appearance until 1988 as Burkina Faso. Afterwards, they have competed at each future games. The nation sends a very small delegation of athletes with six or fewer appearing at each Olympics, typically competing in athletics, judo and swimming. They have yet to win their first Olympic medal.
