History
Botswana made its first Summer Olympic Games appearance in 1980 and has competed ever since. The nation sends a small delegation of around 10 athletes, typically competing in sports such as athletics, boxing and more recently swimming. Botswana won their first and only medal at the 2012 Olympics where middle-distance runner Nijel Amos won silver in the men’s 800m.
