Benin

History

Benin made its first Summer Olympic Games appearance in 1972. It then participated in the African boycott of the 1976 games before returning in 1980 and competing ever since. Benin sends a small delegation to the Olympics, only sending more than 10 athletes once in its history. The nation typically competes in athletics, swimming and a combat sport. They have yet to win their first Olympic medal.
