Angola

History

Angola made its Summer Olympic debut in 1980 where it has participated at every games with the exception of the Soviet led boycott in 1984. The nation has a rich history of team sports where it regularly sends a basketball and handball team. This causes the nation to have one of the larger African delegations at the games. In individual sports, Angola typically sends athletes to compete in athletics, judo and swimming. The nation has yet to win its first Olympic medal.
