Australia and New Zealand split the artistic gymnastics Oceania titles at the 2021 Australian Gymnastics Championships. The winner of the men’s and women’s artistic individual all-around qualified to compete at the Olympics. The Australian Gymnastics Championships are currently being held in Gold Coast, Australia from May 13th to May 25th 2021.
The men’s all-around was won by New Zealand’s Mikhail Koudinov whom finished with a score of 82.450 points. This was half a point ahead of Australia’s Mitchel Morgans (81.950 points). The bronze medal was won by Morgans’ compatriot Jesse Moore (81.750 points).
On the women’s side it was an Australian sweep with Emily Whitehead winning the event with 51.900 points. The silver and bronze medals were won by Georgia Rose-Brown (51.550 points) and Breanna Scott (49.550 points) respectively.
This wraps up the Oceania qualifier for the Olympics though the event continues with medals awarded at various age groups. The next continental qualifier schedules will be in Africa, scheduled to occur in the upcoming week.
