Equestrian: Reallocations of Team Quotas Confirmed After Failure to Obtain Certificate of Capability

There have been a few reallocations to the equestrian quotas due to some nations failing to obtain the certificate of capability for the team events. To obtain the certificate, nations must have had three or more athletes which obtained the minimum eligibility requirement for the respective team event by December 31st 2019.

In dressage, Brazil and South Africa failed to obtain the certificate of capability. The team quotas were reallocated to the highest ranked composite team. The ranking of composite teams is determined by adding the rankings of the three highest ranked riders from the same nation. Additionally, the nation also needs to have obtained the certificate of capability. Therefore, the quotas have been reallocated to France and Austria. Both nations will also be able to compete in the individual event with three riders. Brazil and South Africa will be allowed to compete with a single individual rider, replacing one of the individual quotas from their respective groups.

In jumping, Ukraine failed to obtain the certificate of capability. The team quotas were reallocated to the next highest ranked nation from their respective Group Qualifier, the Czech Republic. The nation will also be able to compete in the individual event with three riders. Ukraine will be allowed to compete with a single individual rider, replacing one of the individual quotas from their respective group.
