Brazil was the most consistent team, winning their first gold medal since 2007 in team jumping title at the 2019 Pan American Games. In terms of Olympic qualification, the three highest ranked eligible teams qualify to the games. Equestrian at the Pan American is currently being held in Lima, Peru from July 28th to August 9th 2019.
The speed round was won by Elizabeth Madden of the United States whom completed the course in 68.82 seconds. By having three athletes in the top six the United States finished the round with a total penalty score of 2.09. Brazil also had a great round, finishing second with 3.39 while Canada was third with 6.21 points.
The first team jumping round saw Brazil and Mexico incurred four penalty points each. This allowed Brazil to take the overall lead with a penalty point total of 7.39. The United States was in second (10.09) and closely behind was Mexico (10.97).
The second and final team jumping round again was won by Brazil whom only gained five more penalty points, winning the gold medal with a score of 12.39. Both the United States and Mexico incurred the same amount of penalties, leaving the placings unchanged as Canada was unable to catch them. As the United States already qualified in this event fourth place Canada will be the third team to book its place to Tokyo.
By qualifying a team, three athletes will also be eligible to compete in the individual event. All selected athletes must meet the minimum requirement to compete. Pan American nations will have one more opportunity to qualify a team at the Nations Cup Final. Equestrian at the Pan American Games continues with Olympic quotas being awarded in individual jumping on Friday.
Update: Due to the disqualification of a Canadian rider in the team jumping event. The quotas have been resorted. Argentina now obtains a team jumping quota while Canada obtains a single individual jumping quota.
