Diving: Kim Mi-rae Wins Women’s 10m Platform Gold on Opening Day of Asian Cup

Medals and an Olympic quota were awarded today in the women’s 10m platform at the 2019 Asian Diving Cup. Only the winner is eligible to win the quota, provided that they have not already qualified their nation and their nation has not reached the maximum quota. The Asian Diving Cup is currently being held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from September 6th to September 8th 2019.

The women’s 10m platform was won by North Korea’s Kim Mi-rae whom finished the final with a total score of 365.50. This was ahead of China’s Zhang Min-jie whom won silver with a score of 346.75 and bronze medalist Jo Jin-mi of North Korea whom finished close behind with a total of 339.50.

Other nations will have one more opportunity to qualify in the women’s 10m platform where they will compete at the 2020 Diving World Cup. The next continental qualifier for this event will be in Oceania, to be held in December. The Asian Diving Cup continues tomorrow.
