Canoeing: Tripartite Committee Selects Belize and Mozambique for Invitation Quotas

The tripartite commission has awarded Belize and Mozambique quotas to compete in canoeing. Eligible nations were able to send applications in order to receive an invitation quota in various sports.

Belize’s Amado Cruz has been given a quota to compete in the men’s kayak events. Given his past competitions he will likely compete in both the K1 200m and K1 1000m events. Cruz finished 12th in both events at the 2019 Pan American Games.

Mozambique’s Joaquim Lobo was selected to compete in the men’s C1 1000m. He finished fourth at the 2019 Africa Games. This will be Lobo’s second Olympics as he competed at the 2016 games in the men’s C2 1000m.
